The Challenge

Luxury perfume brand, Boadicea the Victorious, was embarking on a significant overhaul of their website and wanted a promotional video to help support their big launch. The main focus was to underscore the exclusivity of the Boadicea luxury range with a view to boosting sales. F&C was asked to work with Boadicea’s in-house marketing team and devise a concept that would engage viewers and “take their breath away”.

The Solution

With the Boadicea brand being huge in the Middle-East, we wanted to play on the romanticism of their British Heritage – a key feature for their wealthy audience. We decided to shoot the concept of a warrior trekking across all corners of Britain – only to reveal that the warrior we were following was in fact the Warrior Princess, Boadicea, herself. The main video was akin to a film trailer and is supported with a series of teasers that created an air of anticipation and ambiguity.

Behind The Scenes

Distribution

First of all, we distributed the teaser videos through various online platforms in the run-up to the launch of Boadicea’s new website. We were able to create a buzz and build on the anticipation of the viewer. We then launched the hero video when there was already a growing interest, so that it was pushed through social channels by influencers. The video has also been used at numerous events including the PFA Awards that Boadicea sponsor.

Parting Shot

Whilst shooting the project, we were photographed by a Times cameraman and our shoot made the broadsheet with an incredible picture of the warrior princess riding across the beaches of Marazion at day-break. The video was a huge success in the Middle-East, and has performed admirably on home soil as well!
